Severe weather warnings...Down out of the Championship .... roll on Summer!

Well Sundays game was poor by any standard - Down failed to get a foothold in the game and Armagh's performance was equally bad if not worse. The better team on the day won though.

Despite defeat the lads have much to be proud of - and as Ross Carr has said the real test for them now will be in how they handle this defeat. I've no doubt they will be on top form against Offaly in the qualifiers!

Some Photos taken on the day in Clones have been uploaded for your perusal.

More to follow. As always stay tuned.

Don't Stop Believin'........

Roll on St Tiernach’s Park - its time for more critics to be silenced and for the Mourne men to devastate Armagh.

A great wee video below edited and uploaded to youtube by fellow Down Man Mr Aidan Mallon - he's got some great GAA videos which he clearly has spent a lot of time editing and uploading - all credit to him! be sure to check them out here

In preparation for this Sundays clash and especially for Andy and Yonca in Australia I have thrown together some Down Wallpaper - Simple but effective. Download and show your true colours!

Also some more photos uploaded for your perusal.

More to follow Shortly. As always stay tuned. Come on Down!!

Down 1-19 : Tyrone 0-21. The Boys Are Back In Town....

In last nights rematch at Páirc Esler, Down proved their worth against a formidable foe in the shape of Tyrone. After a game which went right to the wire and AGAIN ended in a draw at full time the crowd were forced to endure a further 20 mins of extra time. In the end - Tyrone were simply out gunned and outperformed by a hungrier, fitter and BETTER Down team.

Playing from the club rooms as we left the grounds of Páirc Esler:

P.S. - Oh and I sincerely hope that some of our elected officials will have the conscience, courage and decency to THIS TIME make an attempt at least at a citizens arrest of Mr George W. Bush when he visits Stormont later today. The Charge? where to start is the question - how about an initial charge of sitting at the head of an administration which has been committing Grave Breaches of the Geneva Convention (through willful killing, torture and inhuman treatment in Afghanistan, Iraq, Guantanamo Bay and various other locations )...a.k.a a War Criminal.

One step closer to the big move....

It's been a hectic few days. Sunday saw Matthew's massive BBQ, which went down a total storm, who says you shouldn't have a barbecue on a fire escape?!

With ministers at Stormont finally holding hands again - maybe they can start working on issues that really matter and stop wasting time and taxpayers money.

Also when is a language - not a language? When an Educational Development Officer to promote the 'language' isn't required to be fluent or even capable of speaking the 'language'. Sound a bit crazy - such is the current requirements for the post in the Ulster Scots Agency. An interesting note on DIALECT from wikipedia:

'A dialect is a variety of a language that is characteristic of a particular group of the language's speakers. The term is applied most often to regional speech patterns...'

Some photos from Matthew's Big BBQ are up for your perusal. Enjoy!

In response to the mornings which are getting brighter and brighter and as I know Andy and Yonca are big fans of her and this song in particular:

Norah Jones - Sunrise

A Lace Webbed Spider?

With the weather taking a slide for the worse, everyone has retreated indoors - including it seems that lovely fella /girl above. Imagine being greeted by that at 1am in the morning while talking a piss, sitting on the wall about 4 inches from your face! NOT PLEASANT, NOT PLEASANT AT ALL. According to the British Arachnological Society if I'm correct in my very amateur identification - this Lace Webbed spider:

'...is one of two very similar species of spider - hence the name similis. If you find one in a house it is likely to be Amaurobius similis. If you find one in a garden or outdoors it is likely to be Amaurobius fenestralis...but to be certain of identification the genitalia need to be checked.'

CHECK ITS WHAT?!?! NO. ILL STOP AT TAKING ITS PICTURE AND RUNNING THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Talking of people retreating indoors , Im very aware that many of you young and old things are up to your necks in exams, just remember to keep your heads down - the end is in sight. Of course none of this is relevant to Jason and Domhnall who are at this moment sitting in Santa Ponsa probably on their thirtieth drink.... Nor is it relevant to Laura and Patrick who are in Spain - although admittedly not quite 'sunning themselves'...

If spiders lurking on your bathroom wall four inches from your face as you go for a piss in the middle of the night freaks you out as much as it did me - or if just the photo above has made you feel nauseas and dizzy, accept my apologies haha and enjoy the genius below:
