The website you are now looking at started out as a pet project, a passtime and hobby and remains to be so to this day. The first impression of thegeneralonline.com went 'live' not long after I first set 'foot' on the web in 1998. As you would expect the first site was basic, and small in size - but it paved the way to learn the basics of web design by trial and error, the only way I believe to do it. Forget trying to learn from a book! - get your hands dirty and learn from each and every mistake you make along the way. Im still doing it this way.

Why change the site?

The original site was started long long ago and as a result it evolved in size greatly over time. This new site I hope will be more compact and thus easier to maintain and update. I hope to use this site as a portfolio and reference point for some of my photography and as a means to keep all who may be interested up to date with where I am and what im up to....
