2009 was a long and exciting year. Its good to see 2010.

First off a very big happy new year to all my friends and family. You like me are probably exhausted after a long and taxing year. 2009 was the second year for me in Scotland and was all in all extremely rewarding, with the move from Aberdeen to Inverness and the very hectic end to the working year behind me I can now look back and take stock of all I have achieved and think of all this year ahead might have in store for me and the bonny Scot.

Much like everyone I have many resolutions and plans for the year ahead, not least to update this site a little more often. I have so many pictures to share and am so behind in doing so. This is something I am aiming to remedy - time permitting.

Some photos up for your perusal. As always stay tuned.

Really loving my new photography book. Picked it up at the weekend - 'The Photo Book' published by Phaidon. If you have even the tiniest interest in photography, I thoroughly recommend it.

The capital of the Highlands

Its been a long time. The summer is long gone and we are now facing a wet and dark winter, but before I totally drag us all down; lets look at the positives. Saturday was a spectacular day here in Inverness, hot enough for yours truly and the bonny Scot to be out and about having a random wander around and over the River Ness.

The album of the summer and the one I continue to stick on to de-stress/relax is my beloved Doves - Kingdom of Rust. Anything by these guys, just switch it on sit back and listen and you'll hear something different every time.True genius. Amazing.

I have still resisted the call of Twitter. Who? why? When? WHY? Never.

Apple have pulled an incredibly fly one with the removal of the tethering option under network settings in OS 3.1 for the iphone. Not impressed. Not impressed at all - another mark against them and their phone. Somebody please bring out a solid handset for android and Im there.

In other wonderful news baby Hannah Grace recently came into the world, who im sure is giving Dave and Elaine so much joy and happiness. Myself and the bonny Scot cant wait to see her when we get home.

Anyway. I have to go - bed awaits. But I intend to get some of the mountain of photos that I have backlogged since the very busy summer online. To those I have promised cd's, apologies I will get them to you, Ive just been really snowed under. Soon I promise.

As always stay tuned. More to follow shortly.

'We have nothing to fear but fear itself....'

It is with great dismay that I have read of the actions of the Tesco store in Antrim town towards children wearing their GAA football shirts. I have written to the store in question and indeed to Tesco Stores Ltd Headquarters to seek answers regarding the company's policy in relation to such blatently sectarian behavior, I feel it is important that Tesco and indeed any such company should not endorse or tolerate such behaviour by its employees. I await a satisfactory response in relation to the same, should one not be forth coming, I will not be visiting Tesco again. In the meantime should you wish to make a complaint their company headquarters address is as follows:

Tesco Stores Ltd
Tesco House
Delamare Road
Cheshunt
EN8 9SL

The address of their Antrim town store is:

Tesco Stores Ltd‎
28 Castle Way,
Antrim,
County Antrim,
BT41 4BU‎

I sincerely hope they appreciate the size of the GAA community and all the other right thinking people who are watching carefully to see how the company makes amends for this disgraceful incident.

In the meantime I have added some photos from a recent visit to Stonehaven where I experienced a battered Mars Bar from the chip shop where they were invented and with James and the bonny Scot the ruins of Dunottar Castle; a beautiful ruined medieval fortress.

More to follow shortly. As always stay tuned

p.s. - the title? Good man Roosevelt! Well its for all the nutters and fear mongerers who are talking up this current pandemic to more than it is. Lets be sensible people, do what we normally do with illnesses of this nature and see how we fare - posting crap, half truths and rubbish to twitter is going to do nobody any good - why would you use twitter anyway?!?
